Learn to sew alongside your child, building the skills to create memories
and connection for a lifetime to come.
Come with zero experience (or a desire to reinforce the basics) and leave with matching pajama pants for parent and child!
Supplies - Fabric, thread, elastic, cording: A shopping list for fabric and notions will be emailed to you before the class so that you can visit the fabric store together, and select the colours/themes you and your child love!
Food & Beverage - Lunch and beverages are catered so that you can relax, enjoy, and focus on the fun. Feel free to bring small snacks for the in-between times if you like.
Tools - Pins, scissors, tape measures, irons, seam rippers, etc will all be at the venue ready for you to use. No need to bring your own.
Sewing Machines - If you have one, bring it! If you don't have one, simply indicate at checkout that you'll need to borrow a CSS machine (no extra charge).
Vibe: Your instructor is a skilled, experienced, warm and wacky lady (and a mom!) who loves people and sewing. The teaching is intuitive and casual, and you will be amazed how much you can learn in a short time. The environment is fun and inclusive, with people of every kind being welcome.
Schedule: 9am - 4pm. Spend a meaningful day learning together. Everyone sews at their own pace, and if you don’t finish in class, our step-by-step instructions make it easy to complete your pants at home.
Age Requirement: A parent knows best if a child can handle a full day of learning to sew. Usually age 8+ would be appropriate. If you are unsure if it's a fit, email hello@calgarysewingschool.com and we can chat!
