Teach Sewing with Us
Calgary Sewing School is seeking experienced sewing instructors to teach small-group classes for children and/or teens in a studio-based learning environment in 2026.
This is a professional contract role, not a casual or drop-in position. We are looking for instructors who bring strong technical sewing skills, excellent communication, and a genuine ability to connect with young people.
About the role
Teach small-group sewing classes for children and/or teens
Guide students through longer-term sewing projects that build skills over time
Support students individually while maintaining a calm, structured classroom
Communicate clearly and proactively with the school owner regarding scheduling, attendance, and student progress
This role is a strong fit if you:
Have solid, well-rounded sewing skills and are confident with a range of projects
Are comfortable using and troubleshooting sewing machines independently and assisting others
Are excellent with children and teens — patient, encouraging, and able to maintain clear expectations
Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and spoken English
Are reliable, punctual, and well-organized
Please note
This is a contractor position, not casual employment
Instructors are expected to arrive prepared and communicate proactively
Teaching experience with children or teens is strongly preferred
